The Masters is behind us, and we head to the RBC Heritage Tournament on the PGA Tour. This tournament, which began in 1969, takes place in South Carolina.

After the exploits of Jordan Spieth last weekend at the Masters, it’s expected tha there will be a hell of a lot more focus and TV viewing on this tournament. Spieth has played in this tournament twice before, where he has provided two solid results. He was 12th last year, and 9th the year before.

This was the tournament that Davis Love III made his own, winning it an amazing 5 times. It’s been played the week after the Masters since 1983, and was named the RBC Heritage for the 2012 tournament. Carl Pettersson won that one. The year after, it was Graeme McDowell and then last year Matt Kuchar took down the $1,044,000 top prize with a -11.

Let’s see what betting tips we have for this tournament:

RBC Heritage 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Jordan Spieth: 6/1
  2. Zach Johnson: 14/1
  3. Matt Kuchar: 22/1
  4. Patrick Reed: 22/1
  5. Jim Furyk: 22/1
  6. Ian Poulter: 22/1
  7. Luke Donald: 28/1
  8. Brandt Snedeker: 30/1
  9. Bill Haas: 30/1
  10. Webb Simpson: 30/1

Those are the odds. Spieth is the heavy favourite, Woods is not participating for those wondering.

RBC Heritage Betting Tip #1: Luke Donald

There’s no-one that impresses us more on this course than Luke Donald. In the last 6 tournaments here, Donald has managed to rack up an impressive 5 Top 3 finishes. He has yet to win this tournament, but could this year be the year?

Donald is coming into this on the back of some poor form. He’s been selective with what tournaments he plays in the PGA this year, but his form has been very poor. He sat out a few tournaments and then missed the cut last week. His form has been disappointing, but he usually turns it up for this tournament.

He’s also someone who, historically, bad form means nothing. He doesn’t just gradually get back into the swing of things – he comes out exploding and shocks everyone and we’ll be banking on that here.

Bet: Luke Donald 28/1 E/W at http://www.GTBets.com.

RBC Heritage Betting Tip #2: Charley Hoffman

Hoffman hasn’t had the worst history at this tournament. Last year he was nowhere near, but the previous two years he came 6th and 8th. We were thoroughly impressed with Hoffman last week, and he’s now racked up a 9th, 11th and 11th position in the last 3 weeks. Those results are very impressive.

We were hoping the odds would be slightly better but 33/1 is still a decent price for Hoffman if he can continue his impressive run of form. We won’t go full hog on Hoffman though.

Bet: Half-Unit on Charley Hoffman E/W. 33/1 at http://www.GTBets.com.

Champions Tour: Greater Gwinnett Championship:

We’re just going to tack this one on here, as it’s not really worth a full article. Bernhard Langer is 5/1 to win it and considering his 1st place last year, and 2nd place the year before, is worth a bet. It’s razor thin value though as he’s probably a true 4/1.

RBC HERITAGE RESULTS & ANALYSIS:

A very frustrating week in the Champions Tour. Langer was looking great in 2nd place going into the final day, and then rain caused it to run short. Very disappointing. We almost got in there with Luke Donald. he went into the final day in the top 10. He ended up having a weak last day sadly, when if he had matches his other scores he could have made the top 5. Oh well. It happens. Very frustrated about Langer though. That one was totally out of our hands and a real kick in the teeth.

Special Note to Americans: The majority of my bets rely on each-way betting which is an insurance bet on the golfer to place in the top 5. Unfortunately no American sportsbooks offer that option. I recommend betting at Bovada where you can choose to bet "To Win" and also "Top 5". Split your bet over both of those. Plus get $250 in Free Bets - Only available at Bovada.
