Betting Note: Betting amounts are based on confidence level. My normal betting amounts are $125, $250 & $500, although I will go as low as $62.50 and as high as $1,000 on occasion.

E/W (Each-Way) bets means you split that amount. So if it is a $250 E/W bet, that means $125 on them to win, $125 on them to place (Usually in the Top 5).

The 2019 Masters tournament is coming up soon and of course takes place at the Augusta National Golf Club. This will be the 83rd edition of the Masters Tournament.

It takes place beginning Thursday, April 11th and goes until Sunday April 14th.

This prestigious tournament was won in 2018 by Patrick Reed, who beat Rickie Fowler by one stroke. It’s always a close tournament usually won by three strokes or less in the post Tiger era, except for 2015 when Jordan Spieth won it by 4.

I wanted to quickly run down the betting odds for the Masters. This is on March 5th, 2019 that I am writing this. It’s interesting seeing who the favourites are regardless of form etc.

Masters 2019 Betting Odds:

The top 20 are:

  • Dustin Johnson: 9/1
  • Rory McIlroy: 11/1
  • Justin Rose: 12/1
  • Justin Thomas: 14/1
  • Tiger Woods: 14/1
  • Jordan Spieth: 16/1
  • Brooks Koepka: 16/1
  • Rickie Fowler: 16/1
  • Jon Rahm: 18/1
  • Bryson DeChambeau: 20/1
  • Jason Day: 20/1
  • Phil Mickelson: 28/1
  • Xander Schauffele: 33/1
  • Patrick Reed: 33/1
  • Bubba Watson: 33/1
  • Paul Casey: 33/1
  • Sergio Garcia: 40/1
  • Francesco Molinari: 40/1
  • Hideki Mastsuyama: 40/1
  • Tommy Fleetwood: 40/1

Marc Leishman is also 40/1

It’s going to be a very interesting tournament.

There’s a lot to consider when looking to bet on the Masters. Majors history is always an important factor for example. You want to know someone has the experience to deal with the pressure of the Majors.

In recent years, the favourite never takes it home and sometimes the result can surprise you. I mean Spieth winning in 2015? Not exactly a big shock. Same with Bubba and Adam Scott.

I know a lot of people that like to lock in futures way in advance. I get that. You don’t want a guy to go on a hot streak out of nowhere and see his odds diminish. However looking at the current guys there’s really very few who I think are viable for something like that.

With the field, someone like Spieth or Rickie would probably only jump from 16/1 to 12/1. As it is the way Spieth is lately it’s possible his odds will drift further.

Either way it is going to be an interesting tournament. If I was to bet a future right now, it’d be Paul Casey. Some tremendous performances here in recent years and is coming off two top 3 finishes in three tournaments. You just have to hope he isn’t peaking early.

Adam Scott is another possibility. At 45/1 he is hot and cold at the moment and if he heats up, that could be huge.

Feel free to leave thoughts in the comments below as to who you think you’ll be backing, or what futures bet you have for the 2019 Masters.

Since 2014 I've been providing free golf tips on a weekly basis. Each tournament analysis, research and writing the betting tips takes over 10 hours per tournament. That doesn’t include watching each tournament and taking notes etc. It's why I do less and less non-PGA tips these days.

I’ve delivered a lot of big winners over the years, and all I ask is if you appreciate the work I put in and so I can continue to keep the tips free, a donation is highly recommended and much appreciated.

While I obviously make enough money from my golf bets, this sort of financial support would motivate me to write more content on here. This would include golf prop bets like first round leader, head vs head and much more plus daily fantasy golf articles. Cheers!
