Betting Note: Betting amounts are based on confidence level. My normal betting amounts are $125, $250 & $500, although I will go as low as $62.50 and as high as $1,000 on occasion. My most common bet is $125 and if you classify that as 1 unit, then I have made a 667.93 unit profit from 2014-2020. (full stats)

E/W (Each-Way) bets means you split that amount. So if it is a $250 E/W bet, that means $125 on them to win, $125 on them to place (Usually in the Top 5).

This week in the Champions Tour, it is the SAS Championship.

It was this time last year that Kirk Triplett delivered for us. We tipped him to win the SAS Championship last year at 22/1 odds, and he duly delivered:

That was an excellent win, and we hope to be repeating it this year. Feels like forever since we last had a win in the Champions Tour – although it was only 2 months ago with Bernhard Langer.

Let’s check out the betting odds:

SAS Championship 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Colin Montgomerie: 9/2
  2. Bernhard Langer: 6/1
  3. Kenny Perry: 8/1
  4. Jeff Maggert: 12/1
  5. Tom Lehman: 14/1
  6. Woody Austin: 16/1
  7. Scott Dunlap: 22/1
  8. David Frost: 28/1
  9. Kevin Sutherland: 30/1
  10. Michael Allen: 30/1

Marco Dawson is also 30/1.

SAS Championship Betting Tip #1: Kenny Perry

First of all there are two people we like to straight out win – the 6/1 Bernhard Langer and the 8/1 Kenny Perry. This is very iffy and we can’t really choice. You all know Langer. He’s played 15 tournaments this season and finished in the top 10 in every one. However he can’t seem to close and only has the one win this season which is really crazy to think about.

So instead we’re tipping Kenny Perry. At 8/1 we feel he has what it takes. He showed up big time to take home the 3M Championship. He’s also got a solid course history with a 3rd and an 11th – and it’s all about consistency. he’s had a round hitting 72 each time in the last 2 years – and if he can just stay under he has a good chance of the win.

However there are a lot of other contenders so we’re taking half a unit Perry to win.

Bet: Half a unit on Perry to win. 8/1 at Bovada for Americans.

SAS Championship Betting Tip #2: David Frost

The South African David Frost has been on fire lately. He came in 3rd in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, and also came tied for 6th at the Nature Valley at Pebble Beach.

He’s also got two excellent results in the last 2 years at this course which is 8th and 2nd. We’re going to take half unit on Frost to win and E/W.

Bet: Bet that at Bovada for Americans.

SAS Championship Betting Tip #3: Kirk Triplett

Hey, he did it for us last year. He’s been very poor this season but this is a course that seems to suit him. We’re feeling lucky so going for a half unit to win and E/W, but honestly it’s probably safer to bet a quarter unit.

Bet: Quarter unit on Kirk Triplett to win and E/W at

SAS Championship Betting Tip #4: Michael Allen

Finally we will take Michael Allen who has been in excellent form all season. He’s only cracked the top 3 once and that was at the beginning fo the season. We think he’s able to sneak into the Top 5 here and 30/1 makes him just worth a play.

Bet: Bet Michael Allen to win and E/W at

Since 2014 I've been providing free golf tips on a weekly basis. Each tournament analysis, research and writing the betting tips takes over 10 hours per tournament. That doesn’t include watching each tournament and taking notes etc. It's why I do less and less non-PGA tips these days.

I’ve delivered a lot of big winners over the years, and all I ask is if you appreciate the work I put in and so I can continue to keep the tips free, a donation is highly recommended and much appreciated.

While I obviously make enough money from my golf bets, this sort of financial support would motivate me to write more content on here. This would include golf prop bets like first round leader, head vs head and much more plus daily fantasy golf articles. Cheers!
