Betting Note: Betting amounts are based on confidence level. My normal betting amounts are $125, $250 & $500, although I will go as low as $62.50 and as high as $1,000 on occasion.

E/W (Each-Way) bets means you split that amount. So if it is a $250 E/W bet, that means $125 on them to win, $125 on them to place (Usually in the Top 5).

The European Tour this week has the Dubai Desert Classic. This event takes place at the Emirates Golf Course, and has been part of the tour since 1989.

Stephen Gallacher is 25/1 for this tournament. Gallacher goes into this one chasing his 3rd victory in a row here. What’s even more impressive is he was the runner up in 2012. The Scotsman has just been unstoppable when it comes to this tournament, and he looked tremendous when in the challenge match with Stenson, as they beat McIlroy and Garcia in a playoff.

Speaking of – McIlroy is the heavy, heavy favourite at 10/3 odds. We love it. We love it because what that does is always drastically affect the odds of the others. It’s like when Tiger Woods was at the top of his game – every other golfers betting odds drop dramatically, and that’s where we can get some good prices.

Let’s check out those odds:

Dubai Desert Classic 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Rory McIlroy: 10/3
  2. Henrik Stenson: 11/1
  3. Martin Kaymer: 14/1
  4. Lee Westwood: 18/1
  5. Sergio Garcia: 18/1
  6. Stephen Gallacher: 25/1
  7. Branden Grace: 25/1
  8. Louis Oosthuizen: 28/1
  9. Bernd Wiesberger: 30/1
  10. Graeme McDowell: 33/1

Dubai Desert Classic Winner #1: Stephen Gallacher

Do we seriously need to explain this one? When someone has this level of dominance at a course, and is priced at 25/1 then everything else goes out the window.

Bet: Gallacher E/W 25/1 at Bovada for Americans.

Dubai Desert Classic Winner #2: Bernd Wiesberger

He came tied for 9th last time at the Dubai Desert Classic, and Wiesberger is going into this one on form. Last time at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, Wiesberger came 3rd just 2 off the lead. The week before, he was tied for 6th in the Abu Dhabi.

Since the break over Christmas, and an extended break for himself, Wiesberger is playing some excellent, consistent golf. He’s having good rounds every time out, and 30/1 is still a good price for him. Based on the gold he is playing we’d say he is more about 20/1.

Bet: Wiesberger E/W 30/1 and for Top 5 placed, please place that bet at https://www.GTBets.com.

DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC RESULTS & ANALYSIS:

Good to see Rory McIlroy show everyone what he is made of, with a dominating win for him.

However this was an EXCELLENT tournament for us betting wise. We went with Stephen Gallacher to continue his form here, and he did just that with a great 3rd placed finish.

We also had Bernd Wiesberger at 30/1 and he started amazing. Sadly he shot just 2 under par on the last 2 rounds. It was still a nice cash, but man it could have been a lot better.

2 nice cashes however – here are the betting slips:

Since 2014 I've been providing free golf tips on a weekly basis. Each tournament analysis, research and writing the betting tips takes over 10 hours per tournament. That doesn’t include watching each tournament and taking notes etc. It's why I do less and less non-PGA tips these days.

I’ve delivered a lot of big winners over the years, and all I ask is if you appreciate the work I put in and so I can continue to keep the tips free, a donation is highly recommended and much appreciated.

While I obviously make enough money from my golf bets, this sort of financial support would motivate me to write more content on here. This would include golf prop bets like first round leader, head vs head and much more plus daily fantasy golf articles. Cheers!
