Betting Note: Betting amounts are based on confidence level. My normal betting amounts are $125, $250 & $500, although I will go as low as $62.50 and as high as $1,000 on occasion. My most common bet is $125 and if you classify that as 1 unit, then I have made a 667.93 unit profit from 2014-2020. (full stats)

E/W (Each-Way) bets means you split that amount. So if it is a $250 E/W bet, that means $125 on them to win, $125 on them to place (Usually in the Top 5).

This week, the European Tour has the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters – known to most people as just the Qatar Masters.

This tournament has been part of the tour since 1998 and is hosted at the Doha Golf Club – where it has been held since 1998. That’s always nice because it gives us a lot of course history to go off on and base predictions based on that. Not just each golfers history of course – but the type of golfer who generally does well at this course.

Qatar Masters 2016 Betting Odds:

  5. Matthew Fitzpatrick: 22/1
  6. Bernd Wiesberger: 22/1
  7. Chris Wood: 25/1
  8. George Coetzee: 30/1
  9. Joost Luiten: 30/1
  10. Thongchai Jaidee: 33/1

Qatar Masters Betting Tip #1: Alejandro Canizares

Canizares is coming into this off an excellent performance at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship where he hit a -11 and came tied for 5th. What was notable was his closing two rounds which were excellent and showed he was back on his game.

That makes us very excited for his performance at the event this week in Qatar. Canizares has an excellent history here the last two years with two top 10 finishes. In both tournaments he has looked excellent and now he is coming here looking in fine form.

Canizares almost seems overlooked by the sportsbooks too with a whopping 40/1 price on his head to win the tournament.

We’ve looked at the odds and we’re going to be backing Canizares to win but do an E/W bet for it. We think he has the ability to sneak into this one and win.

Bet: Alejandro Canizares to win – bet E/W. You can bet this at 40/1 at Bovada for Americans.

And unfortunately that’s all we are betting this week. We’re a bit concerned about the weather forecast for this one. Wind is always an issue here but it’s looking to be even stronger than usual and could really affect the play. There are some people who seem to perform better when it comes to the wind – but we’re not going to bank on them this time.

Since 2014 I've been providing free golf tips on a weekly basis. Each tournament analysis, research and writing the betting tips takes over 10 hours per tournament. That doesn’t include watching each tournament and taking notes etc. It's why I do less and less non-PGA tips these days.

I’ve delivered a lot of big winners over the years, and all I ask is if you appreciate the work I put in and so I can continue to keep the tips free, a donation is highly recommended and much appreciated.

While I obviously make enough money from my golf bets, this sort of financial support would motivate me to write more content on here. This would include golf prop bets like first round leader, head vs head and much more plus daily fantasy golf articles. Cheers!
