Nothing much last week at Pebble Beach in the Pro-Am, as we couldn’t continue our Phoenix Open success.

Not a shock considering the variance of course. However it was disappointing as my only main bet, Paul Casey, looked like he might be in contention for awhile after 2 solid rounds. He followed up a +1 on the 3rd round with a whopping +9 on the final round.

It was an interesting tournament to watch, especially with Phil Mickelson in contention. You just felt like if Phil could ever take the lead then that was it ya know? But it never happened.

Major props to Nick Taylor for the great golf every day. I looked back at that one and can’t see any way we could have backed him. Just one of those things.

Let’s get on with this weeks tips:

Genesis Invititational 2020 Betting Tips:

Bubba Watson 22/1: 2u to win & E/W. This is one I’m not even really thinking about or looking into. Look – I’ve been saying for a few weeks now that I felt Bubba was going to win a tournament. I backed him at the Phoenix Open for win & E/W and he delivered. Now he’s in a tournament where he is has already won three times? Yeah I just gotta back him here. This is a rare, rare time where I bet 2u. I don’t believe I have ever did that when betting golf before (at least not on public tips) however I feel the situation warrants it.

Patrick Cantlay 4/1: 1/4u Top 5 Finish. I feel a real mental block with Cantlay. I find I just can’t back him to win a tournament anymore. I can look at a tournament and think he will be in contention, but I never have the confidence to outright back him. This is another one here. Stands out on all the metrics. Performed well here before. Performing well going into this one. I can see him being in contention.

Tony Finau 11/2: 1/4u Top 5 Finish. Ditto for Tony boy. Initially I had a 1/2u play on Cantlay but dropped it to 1/4u when I decided to add Tony. Stands out in the metrics, in form, can contend here.

That’s 2.5u. Let’s do 4 1/8u picks to round it up.

Sergio Garcia: 55/1. 1/8u to win & E/W. Great price on Sergio here. It’s a course he is very inconsistent on. However I like the form he is bringing into this, and happy to back him here.

Jim Furyk: 150/1. 1/8u to win & E/W. Not in good form, I don’t believe he has cracked the top 10 here, but he stands out in the metrics. At this price I’ll take it.

Phil Mickelson 40/1. 1/8u to win & E/W. In some spectacular form at the moment and won here before so hell why not. The old man has a lot to prove.

Marc Leishman 40/1. 1/8u to win & E/W. making this final pick was a tricky one. A couple of people that popped up on the metrics for me were big long shots like Brendon Todd, Brian Harman and Denny McCarthy. However Marc in his last start won and has performed well here so I decided to go for that.

Americans: Bet the golf at Bovada and get $250 in free bets. More details.

Special Note to Americans: The majority of my bets rely on each-way betting which is an insurance bet on the golfer to place in the top 5. Unfortunately no American sportsbooks offer that option. I recommend betting at Bovada where you can choose to bet "To Win" and also "Top 5". Split your bet over both of those. Plus get $250 in Free Bets - Only available at Bovada.
