Betting Note: Betting amounts are based on confidence level. My normal betting amounts are $125, $250 & $500, although I will go as low as $62.50 and as high as $1,000 on occasion.

E/W (Each-Way) bets means you split that amount. So if it is a $250 E/W bet, that means $125 on them to win, $125 on them to place (Usually in the Top 5).

Holy crap was last weeks Wyndham Championships frustrating.

Last weeks betting tips saw us tip Brookes Koepka, Webb Simpson and Carl Petterson. We bet all three to win, and we also bet them to come in the Top 5.

Where did they place? 6th.

Not just one of them. Not just two of them. BUT ALL THREE ENDED UP IN 6TH PLACE! We’re talking a good 30+ units profit tossed away all due to one freaking stroke. If one less golfer had tied for 5th we were in there.

Absolutely brutal.

Oh well – we’re back this week with The Barclays. A tournament where course form goes out the window. Why is that exactly? Because this is only the second time this has taken place at the Plainfield Country Club – and the first time it occurred was in 2011. Remember that one? A freaking hurricane caused it to end on Saturday afternoon!

So it’s a bit disappointing not having any sort of course form to go on. We can still make general estimations of course – but it’s not the same. So when it comes to unit bets this week we’ll play cautiously.

Let’s check out the odds first of all:

The Barclays 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Jordan Spieth: 11/2
  2. Jason Day: 8/1
  3. Dustin Johnson: 11/1
  4. Justin Rose: 11/1
  5. Bubba Watson: 22/1
  6. Brooks Koepka: 22/1
  7. Rickie Fowler: 25/1
  8. Henrik Stenson: 25/1
  9. Matt Kuchar: 35/1
  10. Jim Furyk: 35/1

So no Rory McIlroy, but Jordan Spieth is participating and he is the strong favourite giving everyone else favourable odds. Should be a very interesting one. Let’s get to the betting tips:

The Barclays Betting Tip #1: Justin Rose

Rose performed well in the much shortened Barclays tournament in 2011. He shot 67-65-67 for a tied for 6th position. Of course he was well behind a few of the others – but he still had solid form.

He’s also coming into this on the back of some bloody fine form with 3 top 5 finishes and a 6th place just beyond that. Of course it’s hard to see him cracking that upper echelon of golfers. His finish 2 weeks ago was disappointing all things considered as even though he was right up there on the final round he never seemed like a threat.

We’ll split a quarter unit on Rose to win, and for a Top 5 finish.

Bet: Justin Rose to win and Top 5 finish at Bovada for Americans.

The Barclays Betting Tip #2: Matt Kuchar

35/1 and Kuchar was 2nd here in the 2011 tournament. His form has been a bit erratic lately but this is a really good course for him. He’s been so solid when it comes to his putting, and that is something that is big here.

We’re going to take another quarter unit and split it on Kuchar to win, and also Kuchar for the Top 5 finish.

Bet: Go with Kuchar and be sure to bet it at https://www.GTBets.com.

Since 2014 I've been providing free golf tips on a weekly basis. Each tournament analysis, research and writing the betting tips takes over 10 hours per tournament. That doesn’t include watching each tournament and taking notes etc. It's why I do less and less non-PGA tips these days.

I’ve delivered a lot of big winners over the years, and all I ask is if you appreciate the work I put in and so I can continue to keep the tips free, a donation is highly recommended and much appreciated.

While I obviously make enough money from my golf bets, this sort of financial support would motivate me to write more content on here. This would include golf prop bets like first round leader, head vs head and much more plus daily fantasy golf articles. Cheers!
